I’m not quite sure what it is..

It could potentially be the gloss covers or the standout headlines – and I’m not talking ‘Kim’s Shock Admission: I’m Depressed’. Alluring – yes?

No – I don’t think that’s quite it.

There’s something about magazines.. I’d measure it to some sort of incessant drug habit, but that would be.. Oh, to hell with it!

“SHOCK ADMISSION: I’M ADDICTED.”

So, now that it’s all laid out on the table, no lies here, I’m going to let you in on a little secret of mine. I have a secret relationship, or not-so-secret to those who sit in my office. Once a month I do a little skip-walk, dance if you may, when the mail man walks in, promptly followed by the same repetitive phrase, ‘It’s new madison day!’. I will insist that everyone share the cover unveiling with me, followed by ooh’s and ahh’s, dependent on their comments and willingness to oblige to my monthly routine.

Yep, there we go, friends – You’ve received an exclusive!

In saying that, today was a very special day. NEW MADISON DAY! What has got my twinkle toes extra twinkly this month you ask? Oh, I’m flattered at your attentiveness. Just flick straight to page 58. madison – bless your features!

‘Clear your mind of everything you now know about Amanda Knox. Look at the picture opposite of a carefree child, beloved by her family and friends. Imagine her as that smiling girl, getting into the same trouble most children do. Now put that hopeful, excited, fresh-faced youngster in to a five-and-a-half by four metre jail cell shared by three women. Close your eyes and imagine that cell is where she will spend 22 hours a day for the next 26 years.’ If you’ve got no idea who Amanda Knox is, Claire Newbon has saved you the trouble and given you the ins-and-outs of her 1427 stint in an Italian jail, accused of the vicious murder of her roommate. It’s heart-wrenching – how’s that for a cliché?

Thank you Claire Newbon, and thank you madison. It’s been a magical new madison day!

Until next time, Au revoir, mes amis!
